This case study delves into our collaboration with this client to develop their volunteer mobile application that seamlessly connects volunteers with individuals seeking help.

About Client

Our client runs a non-profit organization based in the United States, established in 2013. They are dedicated to supporting patients and their families 24 hours, 7 days a week, in 21 hospitals across the Tri-state region (NY, NJ). Their mission is to create a comforting and homely environment within hospitals, ensuring that patients feel at ease even when away from home. Services of an organization include Hospitality Rooms equipped with all amenities, home-style kosher meals, Shabbos Boxes, dedicated hospital liaisons, and assistance with essential supplies such as food, shelter, and transportation. The heart and soul of this initiative lie in the dedication of its volunteers who selflessly lend a helping hand.

Project Background

In response to the client’s need for a volunteer mobile application, we were tasked with designing and developing an app based on the provided UI design. The objective was to create an efficient and user-friendly platform that would serve as a communication tool for volunteers and administrators.

Challenges

One of the challenges we faced was recasting the UI screenshots provided by the client into a fully functional prototype. Our task was to bring the design to life by bridging the gap between the visual concept and the actual code, creating a user-friendly and intuitive experience for both volunteers and admins.

Scope

The app featured separate login options for admins and volunteers. The admin login provided access to functionalities like task management, approval, and addition. These tasks referred to as “calls” within the app, included activities such as restocking hospitality rooms and coordinating transportation. On the other hand, volunteers logged in to the app to receive and accept these “calls,” marking them as complete once the task was done.

Solution

Based on the provided UI design, we meticulously developed the mobile application, focusing on creating a user-friendly interface and incorporating essential features. The admin dashboard was designed to enable efficient task management and assignment. The development process involved coding, testing, and iterations for optimal functionality and performance.
